The Singing Men of Texas - Southeast is one of six regional groups that make up the Singing Men of Texas (SMOT).

Our Mission is to:
  • Glorify God through music
  • Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Provide opportunities for growth, inspiration, fellowship & mission service to our members
The Singing Men of Texas - Southeast is composed primarily of Ministers of Music from Baptist churches in the Southeastern portion of Texas.  The group meets once each month (during the school year) for an afternoon rehearsal and evening concert.  The music spans the spectrum of Christian music from choral classics to Southern Gospel to Contemporary Praise & Worship.

Director of the Singing Men of Texas - Southeast is Jeff Nelson.

Singing Men of Texas was founded in 1975 as a ministry of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (Texas Baptists) Church Music Department.  Today, each of the six regional chapters (North Central, East, West, South, Southeast & Panhandle) minister independently within their respective region of the state.  The chapters cooperate on mission ventures, concerts & other activities from time to time.
